Avox

An Avox is a person who was accused of being a traitor. Some sort of unknown surgery was performed on the which renders them unable to speak. A lot of, if not all, avoxes are tasked with performing various duties throughout the Capitol. The first that is mentioned is that avoxes serve tributes during the days leading up to the The Hunger Games. In Mockingjay however it is brought up that they also work underneath the Capitol, for example in the sewers in such.

• Avox Girl - Later found out to be named Lavinia, Avox Girl served Katniss Everdeen before both the 74th Hunger Games and the 3rd Quarter Quell. Katniss recognized her from years earlier.

• Darius - Darius used to live in District 12, but after interfering in the whipping of Gale Hawthorne he was forced into becoming an avox, and served Katniss alongside Lavinia before the 3rd Quarter Quell

• Pollux - Pollux is one of the cameramen that work with Cressida in Mockingjay to put the propos together. He is the one Katniss Everdeen sang The Hanging Tree for.
